Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NIV): Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
GOD is LOVE and the heart of GOD is for SOULS. That's why GOD sent JESUS, His SON, and that's why He gives the HOLY SPIRIT. He loves us, and He wants to spend eternity with us. To this end GOD calls us in that still small voice, and He draws us to Himself and to His Son. He wants us to HEAR HIS VOICE, HEED HIS WORD, and COME, SURRENDERING EVERYTHING to Him. When we come in sincerity and humility, surrendering our wills for His and our lives and futures to HIM, we're ADOPTED into GOD's FAMILY, and He can use us, for indeed, we are SAVED to save, BLESSED to bless, GIVEN to give, and LOVED to love.
When we come, accepting JESUS as our SAVIOR, LORD, and REDEEMER, we become the BRIDE and BODY of CHRIST--HIS CHOSEN and HIS MEMBERS, each of us gifted for a certain purpose according to GOD's will. We then LIVE in CHRIST and He lives in us and works through us, helping us fulfill that plan and purpose for our lives.
And whether we believe it or not, we as the BODY of CHRIST and as FOLLOWERS of JESUS, have other souls assigned to us--those in our sphere of influence--that person or child who has never read the BIBLE--GOD'sWORD--or has never heard about JESUS; that co-worker who doesn't attend church and doesn't know the GOSPEL--the GOOD NEWS--or is even aware that there is a SAVIOR who FORGIVES sins, HEALS diseases, or SETS the captives free; that foreigner who puts his or her faith in idols and dead, man-made gods--graven images of wood, metal, stone; that person who has never heard that there is only ONE WAY to the LIVING GOD through HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST, who is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE; that roommate who's living in dysfunction and considering suicide because he or she doesn't know there is HOPE, ESCAPE, COMFORT or PEACE in JESUS, the SAVIOR, the REDEEMER, the COUNSELOR, the PRINCE of PEACE; or that stranger who just happens to be where we are at the right time and the right place and is in dire need of what we know or what we have--GOD's WORD, GOD's PROVISION, GOD's LOVE, GOD's GRACE, and GOD's WISDOM.
WE are the BRIDE of CHRIST, the BODY of CHRIST, GOD's SONS and DAUGHTERS, and GOD's AMBASSADORS--LIVING BIBLES and LOVE LETTERS--the only ones some people will ever read. We are THREADED CORDS that BIND; we are the SPIRITUAL LINKS in a NETWORK or CHAIN of SOULS passing what we gain FORWARD and GODWARD. We are the unified pieces of a divine jigsaw puzzle, royal chess pieces that move across an international board, and when GOD calls us, we must COME to HIM and REACH OUT to others; when He fishes for us, we must surrender, willing to be captured and changed--to be empowered and transformed.
We must not be content to be passive, sitting quietly on a church pew, but when GOD speaks in that still small voice, we must LISTEN and HEED HIS WORD and ACT according to HIS WILL, for if we don't, we won't be in position--at the right place at the right time--and when time has passed and death has carried us on; when our earthly deeds are taken into account, we might have regrets for not having done more for the KINGDOM of GOD, for it would be heartbreaking at life's end to hear one wayward, lost soul, especially one we know--someone in our own family, cry out to GOD against us, saying, "If he or she had only COME, SHARED YOUR WORD, and TOLD me the TRUTH--WHO YOU REALLY ARE, I would have BELIEVED and COME TO YOU. I would have ACCEPTED YOU with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength, and I wouldn't be LOST but SAVED."
And this is the truth of GOD'sWORD from Genesis to Revelation: OUR THREE-THREADED CORD unbroken is the TRIUNE GOD--ETERNAL LOVE that never fails found in the NATURE, NAME, and POWER of the LIVING GOD: The FATHER, the SON, and the HOLY SPIRIT.
