2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NIV): Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
GOD IS LOVE, and JESUS CHRIST is the SON of GOD--the AUTHOR and FINISHER of our Faith.
And here is the truth of GOD'sWORD from Genesis to Revelation: GOD is the FATHER, our REDEEMER and our KING, who is good, faithful, and just, promising us protection, provision, redemption, reconciliation, comfort, healing, deliverance, joy, compassion and peace; GOD is the SON, our LORD and our SAVIOR--the One who rescues us from sin, even from ourselves, and cleanses us, forgives us, and reconciles us to HIS FATHER, the KING of KINGS; and GOD is the HOLY SPIRIT, our COMFORTER and our GIFT-GIVER--the One who dwells in us, empowering us and sealing us until the day of redemption; and GOD IS ALIVE--LIVING--and He will never leave us nor forsake us.
GOD LOVES US so much that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life, and He loves us so much He gives us grace and mercy we often don't deserve, and He sustains us through every trial, storm, and hardship through all sorrow, grief, and pain. He gives us light in darkness, hope to conquer despair, and faith to overcome all doubt and fear and combat every adversary of flesh and spirit, FOR we are hard pressed on every side but not crushed, perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted but not abandoned; struck down but not destroyed. Through GOD, we are overcomers--more than conquerors through Him who loved us--and no weapon formed against us shall prosper, for HE is our GOD, the FATHER of COMPASSION, who promises us an everlasting love and who comforts us in all our troubles, all our adversities, against every adversary, physical and spiritual attack, so that we may likewise encourage and comfort others, FOR we are His ambassadors, His fishers of souls--the EPISTLES of JESUS CHRIST--and GREATER IS HE that is in us than he that is in the world.
And the greatest gifts we can give to others in need of comfort, friendship, encouragement or provision are these: our attention, our hearts, our hands, our voices, our time, our kindness, our generosity, our goodness, our faithfulness, our gentleness, our patience, and our love because every child of God is best known by the fruit he or she bears, and these are the FRUIT of HIS SPIRIT: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control.
