For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. - Hebrews 4:12

Blog - Saved But Single: A Conversation

ME: Lord, I'm saved but single. And sometimes, I feel like an outsider intruding on a Valentine's Day party, and I'm all alone, and everyone else is living in the chapters of a life-time romance or skipping through the pages of a well-known fairy tale, because they've made a connection, found happiness, and fallen in love; they've met someone special, and they've married their forever love or their soul mate--everybody except me.

So, what's up, GOD? Don't I deserve someone too? I've crossed off and chased away all the Bozos 'cause I've been waiting for my perfect prince--my family redeemer--my Boaz. But now I'm wondering: Where is my prince? Is he lost in the woods? Dead? Trapped in another realm? Is he locked in the enemy's dungeon? Is he a rebel, a runaway groom, a lost cause? Does he have amnesia? Is he homeless? In a coma? Overseas? Or is he the one that got away? Have I missed my chance at true love? Am I meant to be eternally saved but single?

JESUS: You're never alone. I AM with you. Always. And you ARE saved, but you're not single. You're Mine because My FATHER betrothed you to Me, when you invited Me into your heart and surrendered your life to Me.

So, you're My Bride--My Beloved--My wife--and I'm your Bridegroom--your Prince--and your Maker is your husband, the LORD of hosts is His name, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your GOD rejoice over you.

I love you with an everlasting love, and you are pleasing in My sight, for you are fearfully and wonderfully made. My FATHER drew you to Me, and I gave Myself for you on the Cross that I might sanctify and cleanse you with the washing of water by the word, that I might present you to Myself as glorious, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that you should be holy and without blemish.

So, be patient and don't lose hope. Watch and wait for My return, for I AM your Prince. I AM your Bridegroom. I AM your husband, and you ARE My Bride--part of My Family--for all eternity.

Remember these words: I love you, and I will never leave you or forsake you, and I'm coming back for you. Soon.
