For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. - Hebrews 4:12

Blog - Love & Hate: GOD's List

Proverbs 6:16-19:  There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him:  haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

GOD is LOVE, yet He is also GOOD, JUST, RIGHTEOUS, and HOLY (PERFECT).

He shows no favoritism, and He doesn’t promote, condone, or tolerate sin—lawlessness, rebellion—even among His own.

GOD hates sin, which in 1 John 3:4 is defined as lawlessness, but GOD loves us, every sinner, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of GOD, and He tells us plainly through HIS WORD what He hates—what He detests—what is of the world and not of Him (the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life)—and He gives us ample time to make our choice:  live according to the standard of the world or according to HIS STANDARD of LOVE, GRACE, MERCY, FAITHFULNESS, PEACE, GOODNESS, GENTLENESS, KINDNESS, SELF-CONTROL, PATIENCE, FORGIVENESS, JOY, JUSTICE, SUBMISSION, OBEDIENCE, and RIGHTEOUSNESS.

He expects us to bear the FRUIT of HIS SPIRIT and to SHOW the FACE, CHARACTER, and LOVE of His Son, JESUS CHRIST, our Lord, Savior, Redeemer, and Advocate. He expects us to SURRENDER our will for His and to be led, taught, and empowered of and by HIS HOLY SPIRIT.

Even in the WORD, JESUS says that we’re either FOR HIM or AGAINST HIM; we either GATHER with Him or SCATTER away from Him.

So, if we’re really LIVING for GOD and SERVING Him; if we're really representing JESUS CHRIST, we’re LOVING GOD first and then others, and we’re SINCERE, OBEDIENT, and HUMBLE, bearing GOOD FRUIT for GOD’s GLORY and HONOR, for HIS KINGDOM.

We then encourage, edify, instruct, and BUILD UP others according to our faith, their needs, and if we’re not sincere in our faith and we’re led of the flesh and the world instead of GOD’s WORD and the HOLY SPIRIT, then we scatter, confuse, disrupt, distract, divide and destroy, doing all these things that GOD hates, even detests.

What we must remember is this:  GOD is GOOD, GOD is JUST, GOD is LOVE, but GOD is equally HOLY, and these are what He hates:  haughty eyes (arrogance, pride); a lying tongue (lies, slander, deception); hands that shed innocent blood (murder, homicide); a heart that devises wicked schemes (wickedness, evil); feet that are quick to rush into evil (malice, ill will); a false witness who pours out lies (a liar, deceiver) and a person who stirs up conflict in the community (an agitator, instigator).

For GOD so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. He loved us enough to give us the gift of grace, life, redemption, salvation through His Son JESUS CHRIST, so, the final questions for us then are these:  Since GOD has shown us He loves us and tells us what He hates, even detests, why would we want to do anything on His hate list? If the banner we wave is lawlessness, sin, are we serving GOD or the adversary?
