1 Corinthians 3:7-9: So then neither he who plants, is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.
For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building.
We are all God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should work in them. Each of us, created in His image, His likeness, are fearfully and wonderfully made, with gifts and talents for the glory of God, and each of us is loved and known by God the Father, who has a plan and a purpose for our lives.
We're called to LOVE God and others; we're called to PRAY, to HUMBLE ourselves, to FORGIVE, to BLESS, to GIVE, to SERVE, to OBEY.
We are the AMBASSADORS of Christ, the SONS and DAUGHTERS of the KING of kings; we're FISHERS of MEN and the EPISTLES of CHRIST, LIVING BIBLES to be known and read in our generation.
We're CO-LABORERS with God and FOLLOWERS of JESUS, commissioned to GO into the nations--into the field ripe for harvest, to MAKE disciples, to SEEK the lost and FISH for souls, not for the glory of Self but for the WILL and PURPOSE of God.
We're not called to merely sit and observe from the sidelines or to WATCH from the church pew but to GO beyond the walls, beyond our comfort zone--into the streets, the office, the workplace, the schools, the hospitals, the mental wards, the prisons, and the nations; we're to PREACH the GOSPEL--the uncompromised WORD of GOD, that of JESUS CHRIST CRUCIFIED and RESURRECTED.
We're to proclaim the KINGDOM of GOD, and then LET GOD convict the hearts of men, renew their minds, and DRAW those He has called into the SECURE HANDS and HEART of CHRIST, so they may repent of sins and receive forgiveness, salvation, and deliverance.
THIS is God's Field, and we are His fellow workers--PLANTING, SOWING, WATERING, LAYING A FOUNDATION, and BUILDING on that FOUNDATION of Christ Jesus--PRAYING for the HARVEST as God gives the increase.
In the end, those of us who have labored with God and with Jesus through the guidance, power, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, REAP the benefits of this LABOR of LOVE--eternal life in the presence of God.
But what's important for us to remember, especially today in this generation that often seems addicted to technology and material possessions is this: ONLY two things ARE eternal: the SOULS of men and the WORD of GOD.
