For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. - Hebrews 4:12

Awaiting Warriors

In the waiting warriors arise--weary and worn but bold and courageous--called and chosen, commissioned and commanded to goodness and greatness, to service and sacrifice--

Entrusted and empowered, covered and protected in the whole armor of God--the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the sword of the Spirit, the shoes shod in the preparation of the Gospel of peace--we are perfected, planted, restored, redeemed, rescued, recovered, received, and reconciled--

Bearing the Fruit of the Spirit--of love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, gentleness, kindness, faithfulness, and self-control--we walk as Jesus did--and we worship and pray, faithfully and fervently

Till mountains move,

Till giants fall,

Till walls crumble,

Till doors open,

Till chains break,

Till souls are saved,

and lives are changed,

Like Joseph in Egypt,

Like Moses at the Red Sea,

Like Joshua at Jericho,

Like David with Goliath,

Like Daniel in the lions' den,

Like 3 Hebrew boys in a fiery furnace,

Like Queen Esther before the king,

Like the disciples in the upper room,

Like Paul and Silas in a prison cell.

We're warriors in the waiting,

Wielding words for good,

Waging wars for God,

Fighting battles on our knees,

Even in our prayer closets,

for in the waiting, God is working.

Indeed, in the waiting God is working all things together for our good

because we love Him, and we are the called according to His purpose,

for God is good,

God is just,

and God is love,

And we may be hard-pressed on every side,

but we're not crushed.

We may be perplexed,

but we're not in despair.

We may be persecuted,

but we're not forsaken.

We may be struck down,

but we're not destroyed, for we are His, fearfully and wonderfully made,

and we are warriors awaiting the glorious arrival of His Majesty and His Royal Highness,

the Prince of Peace, the Lord of lords, and the King of kings,

the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End,

the Amen,

the Branch, the True Vine, the Cornerstone, the Word, the Way, the Truth, and the Life,

who is our Warrior King, our Bridegroom, and Commander-in-Chief:

the Anointed One,

Christ:

JESUS.
